A works do on the weekend? You must be kidding me

That’s right, she wanted us to take out free time out of our weekend and spend it at a shitty Christmas works do. I was distraught when I heard this and it still sends shivers down my spine when I think about it.

There are some fucked up people in this world and they do unspeakable things. This is why it’s so important to vote.

Why is it bad to have a works do on the weekend?

Because it’s selfish.

People go to work to make a living so they can enjoy their weekends. A weekend is a break from work that allows you to do the things that you actually want to do. Notice how most people don’t voluntarily come to work on the weekend?

A works do is technically work because no one would go if they weren’t getting paid for it. People can’t be themselves and you have to have uncomfortable interactions with weird people you’ve been avoiding all year. What’s worse is you’re now working on the weekend — for free.
