Are you really financially literate?

Many people consider themselves financially literate, but are you really? Do you even know what it really means to be financially literate? If someone were to ask you what financial literacy was right now, could you explain it in any detail? More importantly, could you explain your own finances in any detail if required to?

People say financial literacy is simple, and there is no need for anyone to teach the subject. But we live in a world where people who teach about money thrive. If financial literacy is so easy, then why do these people do so well?

The better question is, if financial literacy is so simple, then why are so many people who earn a decent income broke? People are going to blame the economy, but we all know the real answer.

The reason financial gurus do so well is because a lot of people need them. People aren’t dumb for asking for help, you could actually say the opposite. They’ve understood that they’re blind in one area and they’ve got the humility to ask for help instead of bullshitting their way through.
