As Someone Who Worked In Customer Service, I Encourage You To Get Mad Them
At the beginning of my career, I spend a good few years in customer service. At the beginning of my time in customer service, I thought to myself, you’d have to be a real asshole to be mean to customer service after you’ve worked in customer service. But now, I get it, and I encourage you to do it. Unleash your inner Karen.
For those of you who haven’t worked in customer service offices, these people are bastards, they’re some of the worse people that you’ll ever run into. They don’t care about you and some of them hope your problem never gets resolved.
People get a bad rep for being rude to customer service, but how else are you supposed to get any results. But make sure you’re actually calling them for a real reason, not because you think you’re entitled to something for free because you’ve been loyal.
Most Employees Don’t Care
When you call into customer service and get on the phone with someone, know that 90% of the people you speak to don’t care about you or your problem. They have lots of problems to deal with and they’re generally all the same. Your problem isn’t unique and the customer service agent is numb to your pain.
