Be more scientific in your way of thinking
Too many people aren’t scientific enough with their way of thinking, in fact, they’re the opposite, they think everything is black and white and they hate nuance. If you question things, watch as the vein on their forehead begins to grow and their answers begin to get sharper.
You’re going to get insulted and belittled, but you’re not the one with the problem, you’re just seeing if there is more to whatever the situation is.
They’re annoyed because you’ve dared to question something that they know in a specific way. You’ve questioned their beliefs and their way of thinking and now you must be scolded by an unimpressive person who thinks they’re a genius.
Don’t jump to conclusions
We all jump to conclusions at times but it’s ok to sometimes admit that you don’t know something. I wish more people would admit that they don’t know what they’re talking about, instead I have to decipher it. It’s so funny watching people pretend to know what they’re talking about, I do it too sometimes. If you do it too much it becomes a habit.
Lazy pattern recognition (a term I’ve just invented) is when you jump to shallow conclusions about things based on surface-level knowledge about the subject. It’s kind of like when I write about women.
