Before you tell me to go and help others, look at yourself

Are you doing anything to help people? I bet you aren’t and you haven’t done anything to genuinely help someone in a long time. But people are always pointing the finger at others to help as if they’re not capable themselves.

All of a sudden they have a million reasons to opt out, things that you didn’t even know about this person. I don’t always blame people because if you’re honest you can piss people off.

I hate when people volunteer you for a favour that they could quite easily do themselves. It’s like they think that they’re doing a favour by burdening someone else with helping.

It’s all social currency. People want to look like they’re nice and helpful people, but if the task is too large then they’ll try and get someone else to do it.

If they do have to do it they may put in 50% effort. This is why I try not to ask people for help. If I need your help I need all your effort or you’re going to make things worse.

People don’t want to get involved

When people have to help you that means that they’re not involved in whatever is going on. If the situation looks like a big deal watch as people avoid it like the plague. Even if what you’re specifically asking for is only a small part they’ll still…
