Being competitive is pretty pointless
As a person who likes sports and people who’ve achieved greatness, I do find it a bit weird that I find most competitiveness completely pointless. Most of the people I admire are competitive but I hate most of the competitive people I meet in my everyday life.
Some competitiveness in life is good when there is a real reason to be competitive, but most people are competitive for no reason and it’s annoying. It’s all for their fragile egos or because they don’t like the idea of someone they don’t like getting ahead.
They have to be the best at everything and be the centre of attention when it comes to things they don’t even care about. They can’t let others be in the limelight for even a second because everything must be about them, they must win. People like this make everyone lose.
What are you competing for?
In order for competition to make sense you have to be competing for something that’s real. Something that has meaning or that can provide you with a real sense of achievement. Some people compete for stupid shit like attention from a person that’s not even important to them or a board game played with family.
