British humour is overrated

Britain people are known for their sense of humour, and whilst I think we are one of the funniest countries in the world, I also think our sense of humour is massively overrated. Here me out, there are lots of very funny people here, but it’s the minority that carry the rest. A few regions contain hilarious people whilst the rest are the most boring people you’ve ever met.

For example, Gloucester is full of the most dull boring people in the known universe. But then Scousers are hilarious.

Most people here are not funny in the slightest and it’s only getting worse because humour strongly correlates to intelligence, and for some reason people here don’t value education anymore. No one wants to have that conversation.

British “wit”

British people are known for their wit, but for most people, it’s not really wit, it’s an annoying remark that kills the conversation and makes everyone feel awkward. Let's say I have a question and I need an answer. Instead of saying the answer or an “I don’t know” you get an unfunny attempt at whit, and you’re left there thinking “One of these guys ffs”.

They think they’ve just said the smartest thing in the world but they’re just annoying. Anyone can make snarky responses but most people don’t do it because it’s annoying and not funny to anyone with a fully…
