“Conservative Thinking”

If people had more self-awareness the world would be a much better place. In fact, many issues would go away. A lot of silly problems are caused by people who for whatever reason are incapable of seeing things from other people’s point of view.

I call this “conservative thinking” because it’s typically conservative people that live by their point of view and their point of view only. I’m not sure if it’s nature or nurture but considering some places develop more open-minded people than others, I think it’s nurture.

Let’s use the workplace as an example.

Hiring people for the wrong reasons

When you hire people for the wrong reasons you put that person and the other people at the company in an awkward position. Yes, sometimes it does work out but often it doesn’t and it blows up on everyone.

The person you hired feels like they let everyone at the company down and they now have to go back to job searching which is soul-destroying. Then you have the other employees that have to manage the workload when the new hire quits.

The manager of course won’t accept any of the blame and will continue hiring people for the wrong reasons continuing the cycle.
