Corporate Creatives Are Often Not Real Creatives

There is a growing creative scene in the corporate world that I got duped into working in. I consider myself a creative person and I was looking for a career path that would let me utilise my creativity and make a living.

I felt a little bit frustrated in my first “creative” role as there wasn’t much creativity. Whenever I tried to be creative I got stopped and was told to follow the process. That would have been fine, but the process wasn’t good and needed some mixing up.

After looking into roles more, reading some things, and speaking to a few people, I found that the corporate creative scene is just like most scenes — fake.

Corporate And Creative Don’t Mix

When you understand what corporate is and what creative is, it’s obvious that there wouldn’t be any real creative jobs. Corporate is data and money — corporate is structure and no risk. Creative is freedom and expression, it’s taking risks and not following the norm.
