Corporate jobs >> Non-corporate jobs
As much as I hate corporate jobs, they are by far and away, much better than non-corporate jobs for many people. Of course, there are good and bad corporate jobs, and vice versa, but if I had to pick one, I’d go corporate all day.
You think non-corporate jobs are great until you meet the underdeveloped people they attract, and then you listen to someone explain how everyone is just winging it on a daily basis.
You know what to expect
Whether you like what you’re getting or not, you know what to expect from corporate jobs. It’s a company full of boring people, many of which will have a bad attitude and are completely out of touch with reality. You’re going to have a lot of boring meetings, and most of them will a waste of time.
Your manager will be absent-minded about what’s really going on, and you won’t be able to explain it to them because he’s away with the fairies in a slightly concerning way. There will be lots of awkward interactions on a daily basis and a little infighting.
In non-corporate jobs, there is a chance you’ll know what to expect, but a lot of companies are unorthodox and don’t know the first thing about structure and consistency. The people that get these jobs don’t follow a pattern either, and you’re uncertain about what announcement you’re…
