Dealing With Two-Faced Coworkers Is Just Part Of Life
No matter what company you work for, no matter what industry you’re in, no matter how nice you are, you’re going to get backstabbed at work. Yeah, it’s sad, there’s no way of getting away from that, but it’s human nature.
Some people are just traitors.
Scratch that. A fuck ton of people are traitors, for no reason a lot of the time too.
Being a tractor comes so natural to many human beings. A lot of the time they don’t notice when they’re fucking over someone, because they haven’t learned to consider others when making decisions that affect others. You’d think that you wouldn’t have to be taught this but you do.

Why Do They Do It?
Have you ever had a colleague at work that you really got on with, and then you overheard them talking shit about you? You literally just had a great conversation with this person, so why would they do this to you?
Sometimes it’s something as simple and childish as wanting to fit in. If you’re not liked by others, they’re going to shit on you to be part of the group. Most people are cowards, and they’re scared of being outsiders. It does get better with age but not until your mid to late 30s.
It could be done to ruin your reputation at the company. If you’re wondering why they’d try and ruin you, it could range from them being threatened by you, to you accidentally saying something that upset them and they’re not adult enough to deal with it properly.
If you’re both gunning for a promotion then you should just assume it’s for that reason. 9 times out of 10 it is, but hopefully, your boss is smart enough to see this and not hire that person. And hopefully, I wake up a millionaire.
Sometimes it’s just because that’s who they are, and they do it all the time to everyone. Backstabbing is second nature and a core part of who these people are, and you can’t change them.
Can You Stay Out Of It?
The answer to that is yes and no. You can choose not to react and ignore the shit being said about you. But if someone is talking about you, you’re involved whether you like it or not.
