Do people travel to run away from their problems?
Every time my life goes through a shit spell I think about travelling, and it’s no surprise that I used to think about travelling all the time when I was a kid right up to becoming a young adult. It’s only now that it’s slowed down but I still get the odd thought here and there. The UK will do that to you.
On social media, I follow a lot of travellers and people into outdoor hobbies, so they travel a lot too. I get the impression that a lot of these people are running from something whether it be relationships, family problems, structure, or a normal life.
Travel is an interesting thing to use to run from your problems as it’s literal running. You’re bouncing from location to location and no one or nothing can pin you down. You’re not doing anything important you’re just always on the move.
Travel is an escape
Travel is a way to escape your home town, your job, and the people in your life, but you always have to come back. Many people hate some or all aspects of their lives and would rather live their dreams lives in another country or countries.
They have an idealistic view of how they want their life to be but are faced with the problem of it not being permanent. Once their time at the hotel ends, or their money gets low, they are faced with…
