“Don’t look for a career, try and solve a problem instead”

This way of looking at your career is interesting to me as it’s so futile but noble at the same time. Countless people have started their careers with the ambition to solve problems, only to find that they can’t because they’re being blocked by the powers that be.

When you’re young you wonder why people aren’t solving some problems already and you judge adults for it. We think adults have more power than they do and they can impact the world if they want to. But when we get in their shoes we realise why they didn’t change the world and in some cases, became part of the problem.

They were being stopped and risked everything if they disobeyed orders. The world isn’t the way it is by accident, people make it this way. If people wanted to change certain things they’d do it.

When these slow rigid organisations are forced to make a change, all of a sudden they can do it quickly.

The world is greedy and corrupt

We live in a greedy and selfish world where people will prioritise their wants over the bigger picture. Some people genuinely can’t see the bigger picture. What’s sick is the people who can but do the wrong thing anyway.
