Everyone has red flags it’s not an excuse not to date people

People nowadays are afraid of dating — properly anyway. There are more single people than ever (I just made that up) and whilst it’s a good thing that people don’t feel pressured to date just for the sake of dating, you can’t avoid dating just because you’re scared.

I know people are scared because of the excuses. When people don’t want to do something they’ll come up with a bunch of bullshit in order to make it seem like it’s not worth it. People nowadays love to go on about red flags.

People say that because someone has a red flag they can’t date them, but they don’t understand that everyone has red flags. People have strange red flags that seem to be made out of convenience. People can’t think of a reason not to date someone so they make up some obscure bullshit.

I’m sure some of this comes from privilege and coddling as well. People aren’t used to being around people who are flawed and aren’t pretentious about everything.

Why are people so scared to date?

People are scared to date because they’re insecure and self-centred. People don’t want to go through the pain that comes with a relationship, they want a safe bed or to avoid it altogether. This is selfish to others and to themselves.
