Everyone is a fucking mentor now

Have you noticed? Have you noticed that there are so many mentors out there right now? Everyone is teaching people how to do shit, I didn’t know there were that many competent people out there. I don’t actually think there are.

But when you look a little deeper, only slightly, it’s not that deep, you’ll see why people do it so much. Whilst I’m sure there are many good mentors out there who genuinely help people, most are very annoying and disingenuous.

I tried mentorship once

I tried mentorship once because I knew it would be a good way to make money. It didn’t last long and I didn’t get any enquiries… I’m glad though as I was anxious about people questioning my qualifications to be a mentor.

In order to sell a mentorship you have to really push it and I had it as a secondary stream of income. I didn’t feel right pushing it on to anyone.

I also felt stupid doing it as I didn’t feel experienced enough to be mentoring anyone. What motivated me to finally do it was the fact that so many other people with less experience did.
