Fake meat sucks: A dumb rant
I don’t want anyone who eats fake meat to feel bad, but just because I don’t want you to feel bad doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t. I get it, you want to simulate meat to get people off the real thing because apparently, it’s healthier to eat conducted cooked up in a lab.
It’s also apparently better for the environment that we all get protein deficiencies as well. I’m not a big meat guy and I’m not a health expert clearly, but there are obvious benefits of eating meat — real meat. The more people remove meat from their diets the more we see this.
Maybe it’s not the avoiding meat that’s the problem, maybe it’s that people stop eating properly when they stop eating meat. People tend to eat pseudo-healthy food and more junk food. Then they try and substitute the vitamins they’re not getting with supplements and products that clearly can’t do as promised.
It tastes bad
Not all fake meat is horrible, but it’s not as good as real meat, it’s not even in the same league and I don’t love meat like some people do. It tastes like budget meat that you’d get from Lidl, the type of thing you’d only eat if you’re broke and desperate. The type of stuff that leaves you wondering if that was actually a cow you ate and not something else.
