Growing up with dumb parents
People don’t say this a lot, but a lot of our parents aren’t the brightest. It may only be one of them, but sometimes that’s enough to fuck up our lives in some way. I was born with 2 pretty dumb parents, and whilst my Mum did her best, it’s not her best if you know what I mean.
Dumb people don’t typically put their best foot forward in life. They usually only have the capacity to think about themselves and they definitely don’t think long term about the consequences of their actions. It’s all about how they can benefit from a situation.
They don’t value important things and often want dumb shit for themselves and the people around them. So as a kid, you’re forced to suffer through the consequences of their actions whether you like it or not. More importantly, you’re forced to suffer through Sped dreams.
You can’t hate them too much either as they don’t always mean wrong, they’re just a bit challenged. I can say the stuff in this post with confidence as I’ve come to terms with it and I don’t care if it looks bad, it is what it is and lying doesn’t change a thing.
People think that denying that some parents are completely incompetent makes them such a good person, but that’s another story.
