How Akira Toriyama’s childish drawings influenced me to be a better person

Akira Toriyama died today aged 68. If you’ve been online or watched the news today you’ve probably heard about it, and if you’re not a fan of his work you were probably wondering why this has made such big news.

It’s made such big news because like myself, Akira Toriyama has influenced many people and become a big part of their lives because of 1 show. Dragonball.

He’s done other comics and shows, but nothing else has blown up as Dragonball has, it’s one of the biggest shows of all time regardless of genre and the times. It’s so good that you can watch it as an adult.

It’s not perfect, it has a lot of plot holes, there are pervy parts and there are a lot of missed opportunities, but the overall show and characters hit home for a lot of people. Plus they made it super cool with the power-ups and transformation, which helps.

Dragonball, like football and bad bitches, is something I think about almost every single day without fail. It’s not because I’m its number 1 fan or even that I watch it often, it’s just impacted me so much that it stays in my mind all the time.

I probably think about it more than ever now at 29 due to its resurgence and the fact its lessons help me through life. Sometimes I think about the…
