How Neurotic People Ruin The Workplace
Neurotic people have been the scorn of my working life. They make an easy job hard, they make a good workplace unbearable.
For those that don’t know, neuroticism is one of the big 5 personality traits. They experience things such as anxiety, anger, frustration, envy, depression and loneliness among other things. They’re also very likely to be narcissistic.
I don’t know why, but it’s more common in women and it’s a characteristic that may be used as a bit of comic relief on a TV show. Think Amy Santiago from Brooklyn 99.
The competition
Neurotic people always have to compete with you because they feel worthless if they’re not the best at everything, even if it’s something they have no interest in. I’ve had them compete with me on social media as well as at work.
When it comes to a job when you have a neurotic person on your team, they have the same job as you so more of an opportunity to compete. You’re going to get cut down, trashed behind your back, and sabotaged.
They may pretend to be your friend so they can get the secret sauce before they destroy you. Keep your friends close…
