How to stop being miserable at work
I’m going to share with you the things that I’ve done to be happy throughout my career in certain jobs that were trash. But I will warn you that I can’t promise you that doing these things won’t get you fired, hated, or even make you happy, to be honest. Enjoy.
Don’t take the company seriously
One of the best techniques I’ve used to make life at work bearable is not to take anyone seriously. It’s a dick move because if you’re not taking people seriously you’re not respecting them, which I didn’t.
You try to respect people when you first meet them but some people are just losers. They don’t give you a chance to respect them and they don’t respect you themselves.
I will say that this was in a call center job and in call centers the people are a little more “quirky” than you find in other jobs. So doing this won’t work if you’re an accountant is what I’m saying.
Go along with it
Go along with the bullshit and pretend that you’re having a good time. It might be cory, and you may hate yourself, but at least you’re included. As someone who hates to be included in work things, it does feel nice to be included with some things. It’s human nature.
