How to stop the diversity and inclusion issues in the workplace
To stop the issues with diversity and inclusion in the workplace, you have to know what they are. I think this is where a lot of companies fuck up as they are completely oblivious to the issues that diversity brings. They’re too focussed on actually acquiring the diverse staff in the first place, after that they don’t give a shit as the problem is solved in their eyes.
Pay attention to who is recruiting
Recruitment is key to the entire diversity and inclusion movement. A lot of companies have idiot recruiters, or use idiot recruitment agencies that only hire or recommend people that are just like them. They have this really small-minded idea of what right and wrong are and it all begins and ends with the way they themselves act.
Pay attention to the people that your staff are bringing in and why, you may notice a theme.
If you see that everyone that’s being hired is generally the same person then you have a problem. The person recruiting isn’t great or they’re abusing their power to hire people for none work-related reasons. Or it could be that your hiring practices are excluding certain groups of people.
