I am in crippling debt

I’m pretty fucked right now, and as of today, my credit score has hit 0. It’s funny because I wanted to make this year about being financially stable, but things in my past have been creeping up on me, bending me over, and fucking me. They didn’t even take me out to dinner first.

For example, I have been getting chased by energy companies because they gave me the wrong account number when I was living in my old flat. I was essentially paying someone else’s bill for 6 months.

No one thought to say anything and I have been getting chased by debt collectors. If I hadn’t called them then this situation would never have been resolved. They didn’t know or put together that I had paid another account, they just thought I was dodging payment.

This is just one example of the bullshit that has hit me recently.

It’s all from my past

Most of the debts that I have are from my past. The only debt I have from this year is a bus lane fine that was sent to the wrong address. I did not know you had to update your V5 logbook as well as your driving licence when you moved, so my car has been registered at the address I was living at when I bought it nearly 2 years ago.
