I can’t pay my rent

Recently my financial troubles have gotten to the point where I can’t pay my rent, but here we are. I still have a roof over my head and don’t owe anything in rent. I’m surviving like a cockroach in a nuclear apocalypse.

At times like these, you have to thank the lord for your family as they are the only people you can rely on when times get tough-financially anyway. You can get some leeway from your landlord but not much, they only care about themselves. Nothing will stop them from making top dollar from their investments, even people who’re going through hell.

My rent is reasonable

You might think that I rent an expensive deluxe flat but I don’t — not yet anyway. I do live in the south of England so my rent is a little bit higher than if I was in the midlands or north. I pay £850 a month, which is a good price for where I live considering all you get, but only a few years ago I was paying £350 a month to live in Bolton, less than half of what I pay now.

Such low rent gave me a lot more leeway with survival when times got tough but you get what you pay for. The flat was shit and so was the town I lived in. It was where my deep depression started and I will always remember it for that.

The issue is not with my rent but the frequency I get paid.
