I Hate Freelancing

In 2020 I tried my hand at freelancing. It’s was the beginning of my life going to shit because it made me realise that I hated my career choice and the freelancing itself. I was left in a state of limbo wondering where to go next.

Freelancing is hard, and in the beginning, it’s something that you have to dedicate all your time to in order to survive. You have to take heaps of shit just to pay your bills. It’s actually less hassle having a 9–5.

You learn quickly that you won’t have the freedom and control over your life that you’d expect being self-employed.

You Have To Deal With Worse People Than You Do In Employment

However annoying you think your current work colleagues are, crank that up by 10, and that’s how annoying the people you work with when you’re freelancing are.

Most connections you encounter are next to useless and only want you around just in case you have a good idea they can steal, or so they can use you to promote themselves.

You’re going to be taken into meetings and groups full of time wasters. The atmosphere is just as fake too because everyone is trying to stay on brand. It does make more sense when you’re freelancing though.
