I lost my weekend job

I’m pissed. I’ve just received an email saying that I’ve been let go from my weekend job. Does it come as a total surprise? No. But it’s still very annoying, and the way the cunt did it was cowardly as well.

They did the ole’ gaslight instead of admitting the real reason, but that’s not important. What’s important is that I’m left without a third source of income whilst I’m in massive debt. I don’t earn enough from Medium for it to count for much.

I made too many mistakes

Apparently, I made too many mistakes, which is true. I have been making mistakes recently, but no more than usual overall. I’ve probably been making fewer mistakes since the turn of the new year but judging by the email and their personalities, they could be fed up with having to clean up after me. After all, they hired me to make their lives easier, not harder.

I hate it when I make mistakes, but this job is so convoluted at times you can’t help but make them. They make a lot of mistakes themselves. It’s very old-fashioned and manual. There is a lot of paperwork which is unnecessary, a lot of changes, and the overall process is long-winded, repetitive, and can be confusing.

They’ll make changes and not tell you about it, and when I make a mistake I feel like an idiot. I take full responsibility for my mistakes, but I…
