I used to dream of moving to California when I was a kid

As I think about where I’m going to spend the rest of my life, I can’t help but think about a place that I always wanted to live when I was young. It’s not a place that’s unique in any way in that I’m sure many people wanted to do the same thing. It’s the humble state of California, US.

As an adult, I am not interested in living in California. I am aware of the issues and I don’t think I’d fit in, but who knows? One thing I do know is that if I was offered the opportunity to move, I probably would. I’d have to live in the more conservative area though as the lefties there scare me.

Look at this place.

The reality of California is disappointing

Let's start with the bad parts before we get to the good. Many people are leaving California due to the (many) issues it has. It’s an extremely expensive place to live, but to be fair that’s to be expected.

You have to pay if you want to live somewhere good and I wish that people would stop crying about that. If a nice area was cheap then all sorts of creatures would move in, making the area not so nice.

Then you have the homeless. It’s crazy that they’ve let the homeless problem spiral to the point they just have their own little towns now. That’s a sign of poor leadership from the governor, as are…
