If I keep getting hired by idiots, what does that say about me?
I’ve had a lot of shit jobs in my career where I’ve been hired by idiots and tortured until I’m forced to leave. Right now I actually like my new job and the people I work with seem ok. It’s not perfect but the company is one of a good mission and I can learn and develop here.
I was thinking to myself a little while ago, If I keep getting hired by idiots what does that say about me? There is a lot of context that goes into this and with that in mind, I think, well, I know that I’m not the problem.
Just look at the reviews for the companies I’ve left, they’re almost all bad. So why do I keep getting these “opportunities?” Why can’t I get a job I’m passionate about like so many other people claim to have?
Some people get a good job first time and it’s out of pure luck, there was no thinking that went into it. Most of us aren’t that lucky and some of us never find a “happy” workplace. I struggle to find one I can stay in let alone a happy one.
Do idiots attract idiots in the workplace?
Outside of work you’re most likely going to find idiots spending their free time with other idiots, as birds of a feather flock together. But this isn’t the same at work due to the dynamic between work and people's need to pay…
