I’m at war trying to learn how to do my job
Before you enter the workforce you’d expect that the biggest obstacle that you’re going to face to be customers. But when you join the workforce you find that quite often isn’t true.
A lot of the time your biggest obstacle is actually the people you work with every day and share the same goal.
This is a story about my dumb experience trying to learn how to do my job at a Christian cult.
They said there wasn’t much training but…
They said there wasn’t much training and that’s fine, but what they failed to tell me was that this was a highly technical job that’s very specific to this industry and company.
If it’s a general job, which I thought it was, then I could have dived right in. But I was new to the industry and company, and there was an enormous amount to learn.
It wasn’t consistent either, my tasks would vary from customer to customer so it was hard to learn. Everything was different all the time which they also failed to tell me.
