Doesn’t it seem like there are a lot of cult leaders or cult-like leaders nowadays? Andrew Tate, Ye, Trump, Jose Mourinho, Alex Jones, and Taylor Swift to a degree. I know that not all of these people aim to be cult leaders, but it’s a sign that it’s easy to become one.

The internet has made it much easier for someone to reach a massive audience and that means that it’s pretty simple to build a cult if you want to. The people mentioned above are only a few examples of celebs with rabid fanbases that would justify murder if they had to.

You’d think that with all the information out there people would be less susceptible to cults, but the opposite is true. People choose not to learn and avoid the information that makes them uncomfortable, they gravitate towards people who say everything they want to hear and make them feel good about themselves.

What is an internet cult?

A cult is a group of people that a charismatic leader controls. Cult leaders typically place themselves as victims or freedom fighters for a cause, and you’re helping them in the battle. In reality, they’re the bad guys and using you for their own personal gain.
