It’s not your work colleague's job to validate you as a person

In social situations you have to validate people, I understand that it’s part of a healthy social dynamic. Even though most people are incredibly unimpressive and interesting, you have to tell them they’re worthwhile. But nowadays people require so much validation because their parents always told them that they were amazing growing up.

I don’t mind validating people but fucking hell it’s draining when you have to do it all the time, some people it’s like every half an hour. When you’re trapped in an office all day you have no choice. This is especially bad now I live back down south where everyone is fragile and on the verge of having a breakdown.

They must feel better than everyone at all times or they’re a victim.

I have to validate people I hate

I have hated many people that I’ve worked with over the years and I’ve still had to validate them as a person from time to time. They are useless wastes of oxygen and every day I hope to get the news that they’ve quit. Instead, I have to validate the toxic bullshit they tell me whilst they bully others.

If you don’t validate them then they’ll realise that you don’t like them. This isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes it’s best to keep the peace. But you do get to the…
