Toxic work colleagues: Lazy Laren

I have stories about the toxic workplaces I’ve worked in, but I don’t have so many individual stories about the weirdos in these places. This woman isn’t the weirdest person I’ve met in the workplace, but she must have made an impact on me as I’ve got a post about her in my drafts.

She was from a mother from Zimbabwe who was middle-aged to be polite. She was a devout Christian and made an effort to let people know. She was a foodie although she couldn’t cook that well, and she was fucking lazy.

If you know me you know that I hate lazy people. Most of the shit we’re asked to do in a developed country isn’t a big deal and people still find a way to be too lazy to do it. People think their life is terrible because of outside forces — nah, it’s you.

You can’t be bothered to copy and paste for a few hours a day and that’s says all I need to know about your character.

Asking for favours

She used to love to ask me for favours, and not small favours, big bullshit favours. I have noticed that lazy women in the office will often try to use men to do their bidding. I have one at my current workplace, the local restaurants love her.

She used to ask me to drive to my hometown to buy some doughnuts for her, and that’s a 90-minute round trip. I know she wouldn’t…
