Looking behind company recruitment processes is eye-opening

For years I had no idea what went into a company's recruitment process. Despite having so many interviews it never crossed my mind, and that’s part of the reason why many of my early interviews didn’t go well. Then one day I got to speak to some people about it and since then I’ve seen more and spoken to people about it again.

I can see why a lot of companies don’t get good employees, you guys don’t know what you’re doing. Many of you are getting manipulated by recruiters as well. Some companies understand what recruiters are buy too many are still naive to the fact they’re con artists.

I was shocked to hear how many people were nervous in interviews as you don’t see it a lot. You’d think the person in the position of hiring wouldn’t care, but some people are so desperate to get the decision right.

Having a score sheet is a dumb idea

Who’s idea was it to use score sheets for recruitment? I can see some benefits like not hiring people because you think they’ll make a good friend, but overall it’s too formulated and doesn’t tell the full picture.

Having a score sheet means candidates can tailor their interviews to a formulated way and get the job. You’re basically encouraging people to be fake and generic.
