Modern psychology takes all responsibility away from society
I’ve been learning about psychology regularly recently and although I find a lot of it helpful and interesting, that doesn’t change the fact that a lot of it is a steaming pile of bullshit. Some of it clearly has an agenda, and some of the research is poorly conducted, to say the least.
I’m no expert but I know from living life every day that some of psychology is flawed. It would make sense too as global society is too varied for psychology from one place to understand it. People act differently for many reasons, and sometimes those reasons come from where you were brought up and who you are in the context of that.
One thing I hate about modern psychology is the “it’s all your fault and you need to change” way of thinking. Yes, my life is ultimately in my hands but there are some things I am not in control of and cannot change by changing myself. All I can do is change my outlook which in some cases is blatantly lying to myself, and lying to myself doesn’t change reality.
