Yes, that’s right scientists have discovered that British people are closely related to Ostriches, and it explains some behaviour they have in common. They both have the habit of burying their heads in the ground when things get dicey.

They don’t want to hear or see what's going on around them so they pretend it’s not there and distract themselves with something else. Bullshit like daylight savings time.

The stiff upper lip

When people think of the British stiff upper lip, they think of a stoic guy who is smartly dressed and walks through life unfazed by its pathetic attempts to throw him off course.

What is really happening is that guy is just suppressing his emotions and pretending there aren’t any problems whilst his life is in ruins.

He doesn’t want to cry and he doesn’t want to get angry and that’s because he can’t. He can’t feel anything, he’s numb.

He’s not strong and stoic, he’s too insecure and afraid to face his problems head-on and has created a hard image to hide this from the general public.

When times get tough, lie to yourself
