Should I close my blogging business and just work on Medium instead?

It’s my favourite type of post, one that I use as a substitute for a pros and cons list because I’ve realised that pros and cons lists are useless. Honestly, they’re garbage, and I’m going to write about it in future, make sure to unsubscribe for that one.

I have a blogging business, but I also write on Medium. I love to write but maintaining both takes a lot of time. I also have a 9–5, I’m learning new skills for my new career, I’m learning new things because I have developed new interests, and I want to try new/more ways of making money.

I’ve been wondering for a while if I should slack off the blog business and focus all my writing efforts on Medium instead.

Writing is time-consuming

As much as I like writing, it is time-consuming and anyone who writes will tell you that. So imagine how long it will take you to write 2 blogs every week and then promote one of them.

The fastest I can write something for my blog is about an hour, and about it’s about half an hour for Medium. When I have medium to long posts to write it takes me usually between half an hour to 2 hours to write them.

If I have 2 posts to write in a day and they’re both medium length then it’ll take 3 hours out of my day…
