Teamwork Is Overrated

Everyone likes to champion teamwork nowadays, and what they say sounds good in theory, in reality, it’s a hot mess. Teamwork only works in certain circumstances, in most cases, it’s best to do things by yourself.

Some People Aren’t Suited To Teamwork

The vast majority of people work best alone when they have the confidence to do it. Think back to your greatest achievements and ideas, I bet most of them came when you were by yourself. Or if you were in a team, it was an individual moment of brilliance.

Most people can work in a team but there are some that can’t thrive in that type of environment at all. It doesn’t mean that they’re a bad person, they’re just wired differently.

They’re at their best when they take responsibility for everything and can take things at their own pace. Working in a team means that you sometimes have to let incompetent people take the wheel because you don’t want to upset them.

Not Every Situation Requires Teamwork

Stop forcing people to be part of a team when it’s not needed. They do this at school, and it’s so kids can learn how to work as part of a team. This makes sense.
