The more I learn about people the less I want to help them

When you’re young, you want to help people, and it’s because you have this idea that if you help people then you’ll make the world a better place. It makes sense in theory, and to a certain degree it’s true. When you get a bit older and you develop a better understanding of human nature and how the world works, you realise that people are best left alone

This doesn’t mean that I’ll never help people, it means that I’m not going to dedicate my life to doing it. I’ll help people when it comes up in my life, and it happens enough, people are useless and fall apart very easily.

People expect too much

I do feel like a lot of people expect too much from strangers nowadays. They don’t know you but they expect you to help them out with sometimes very personal areas of their lives.

Fair enough, sometimes they don’t have a choice and help from a stranger is the best they can do, but some people are too quick to go there. They don’t put any effort into helping themselves and they immediately want to put it on to someone else.

Then you have the people that expect you to do too much for them. It’s like they want to dump their problems on you as it will make their lives easier. It’s a very entrepreneurial way of dealing with your problems I…
