The small-town narcissist archetype

The narcissist who doesn’t even have the decency to think big, what a waste of life. When I was younger these types of people used to torture me, but as I got older and got a wider perspective of the world I’ve learned how to stop them from affecting my happiness.

It’s not for the lack of trying though.

When I was living in Gloucestershire I met a few of these types, and of course, it was mainly at work, although I won’t forget that asshole at Waitrose. That guy at Waitrose is the one person I want to take revenge on, and it’s over some petty shit.

Small-town narcissists are not big enough thinkers to manipulate you, so you’re locked in a dumb battle with them. Most of the time you don’t want to be in a battle at all, but this means a lot to them so you’re not going anywhere.

There will be a winner and a loser and they will probably be the winner due to perseverance and the desire to prove some stupid shit that doesn’t matter.

They think they’re a celebrity

They love attention, but only from people in their home town. The ones I’ve met typically don’t like too much attention from the outside as they’re scared of it. The people are different to them and they’re not a big fish out there like they are at home town (in their eyes).
