The worst boss I’ve ever had

I’ve had some bad bosses in my life, but this guy takes the cake. It’s a coincidence I’m writing this today too, as I’ve quit my job and I think I’m finally leaving this dump of a city -- for real this time.

I had the idea for this post months ago and it was next in line to get written. What a fitting way to say goodbye to this asshole.

Aggressive passive aggression

This job seemed a bit too good to be true, a switched-on company full of thoughtful people, I finally hit the jackpot. In the interview, they came off great for the most part. This guy was a little weird, but I thought it was just him feeling slightly awkward.

Turns out it was him being a passive-aggressive asshole as I saw from my first day onwards. He was very patronising and dismissive. He basically dismissed everything I said in my first month. He was only interested in speaking when it was about himself.

He undermined me in meetings with clients, and he pulled faces and made snide comments behind my back. He was acting like I did something to him in the past or something.

His wife came in one day and the first thing she did was insult me. He’d obviously been telling her that I was an awful person.
