Understanding how the British project their racism
People from all over the world express themselves in different ways and they also have a different set of beliefs. The UK is a unique country as it’s one that believes it doesn’t have much of any sort of racism, or at least it didn’t up until now. But there is a lot of racism and discrimination and it’s obvious if you live here and are one of the people being oppressed.
From the outside, the UK to most people seems like a very tolerant country, and to be honest, compared to most countries it is. But when you’re living here it’s a different story. The word tolerate is very literal and it’s “tolerate under certain conditions.”
It’s all covert
The main reason why so many people think that the British aren’t racist and are polite is because they’re so covert about everything. It’s hard to get a read on someone when they’re indirect, don’t say what they mean, and do most of their talking about you behind your back.
It’s all smiles and politeness to your face but when your back is turned it’s daggers. It’s a very basic bitch way to live if you think about it.
Racism isn’t something that you’ll often have blatantly thrown in your face although it does happen. Try living in the West Country, people here are very openly racist.
