We are the kids of a lazy parenting epidemic
There are lazy parents in every generation, but one has a reputation for being particularly bad. I’m not saying that they’re all bad, but some of them didn’t even try and they don’t care either.
This is why so many of us have rough relationships with our parents that we can’t change.
I don’t know what these guys have been doing the entire time, and when you speak to them you can see why they failed. They don’t know shit and have the strangest values.
The TV addiction
People always speak about video game addiction and how bad it is for the modern generation. Yes, it’s a real thing and it’s bad but let’s not pretend that the TV is any better. In fact, it’s probably worse because you’re literally not using your brain.
Although they don’t like to admit it, this generation loves a bit of TV. They see video games as the devil but shopping channels are ok. They claimed to always be out but when TV got accessible they packed that shit in.
They used the TV as a substitute parent at times and you could say that it was almost as good as them at parenting. I learned more about values from cartoons than I did from my lying ass parents.
