We don’t know the relationship they have with their parents, judging by the post it’s not good. My mum has helped me in emergencies but there is this expectation people have for their parents to make sure their kids are comfortable.

I know people who earn enough to be comfortable but spend poorly and expect parents to pay for their mistakes. Sounds like it’s a them problem from this post and there is some context missing.

Ultimately it’s up to your parents and it’s not a generational thing.
