What do black men get in all this?

Black men will read the title of this post and know exactly what I’m talking about. What the fuck do we get in all of this? What I’m talking about is movements, programmes and support. We are everywhere but often forgotten about.

I see most other groups of minorities and vulnerable people get some sort of help and support, but black men don’t get much of anything. I don’t need handouts, but it is nice to see people understand your struggle and what you have to go through on a daily basis.

There are many misconceptions about black men and what we go through in life. We have to grow up quickly or there is nothing out there for us. Many of us grow up without dads but life is the most stern father you could have, and he will beat you, he doesn’t give a fuck about child abuse.

I get it though, we’re not as marketable as other demographics and this is what it’s all about. It’s not about helping people and it never was, it’s all about profiting off people's struggles.

What does it take for a group of people to get help?

In order for you to get help you need to tell people that you need help, and there are several reasons why black men don’t ask for help. One of them is pride. We have to look strong all the time and people might think that’s all about ego…
