What is it like dating whilst in a serious debt?

Other people do it why can’t I? I’ll tell you why, it’s because I’m in debt because I can’t keep a job. I can date someone if I am stable and in debt but I haven’t been stable in a long time. I have a new job that pays well, but it’s only until December, after that, who knows where I’ll be.

I have started my own business but I don’t know if it will be bringing in any money of significance by then. I am cooking though.

I don’t mind telling people I’m in debt as it seems like most people are. You get close enough to people and they’ll tell you about how they’ve ruined their lives making shit financial decisions.

Some people are in debt but they don’t realise it. They don’t consider car finance as real debt, and they don’t think about all the clothes they’ve bought on BNPL. They’re still paying for their phone too, and technically if you don’t pay your car insurance off in full and choose instalments instead you’re in debt.

Now that I have a job that pays money I can go out and start living life which means I can go out and date properly without fear of being embarrassed. Now I have the challenge of finding a partner who isn’t poorly educated and boring.

It’s still embarrassing, especially when you’re trying to convince someone that you’re good enough for them. As long as I stay away from dating apps I should be ok. Women on dating apps will eat your self-worth alive.
