No, I’m really asking, somebody please help me.

I’m a frugal person growing in credit card debt, my life is nothing but cruel irony. I spend nothing and still rack up mass amounts of debt. It’s not important how I got here (bigotry epidemic in the workforce) it’s how I’m going to get out.

I enjoy the challenge of getting out of debt, but it is serious and affecting my life in drastic ways. Surprisingly it’s not all bad. I cannot do a lot of what I’d do on a normal day and I’m struggling with rent.

But that is a story for another day.

Paying of highest interest First

Paying off the card with the highest interest makes the most sense to me because it’s the card that going to hurt you the most in the long term.

In the past, I’ve made the minimum payments on my highest-interest cards and seen the payments rise despite the balance going down.

My highest-interest card is also the card with the most amount of debt. I tried to consolidate all my debt onto my 2 cards with the highest limits a few years ago and since then I’ve accumulated more debt so it’s fucked me.

It’s not a good idea to consolidate your debt on your highest-interest card, that’s a lesson I learned too…
