What makes people refuse to better themselves?

No one comes into this life with everything. Although it might seem that way, there are always some aspects of life that aren’t right and that we are going to have to work on ourselves if we want to be happier and boost our confidence.

But some people no matter what happens to them refuse to even give self-improvement a genuine go. It annoys me for two reasons. The first is that it works, and the second is that it would solve a lot of the world’s problems.

For example, if people worked on themselves then bullying would be cut down massively.

Fear

The prospect of changing your life to change yourself is a scary one. You’re currently in a comfy routine, and although you’re miserable you know what you’re going to get. You’ve even probably developed a system that allows you to experience a bearable amount of misery on a daily basis.

I’d be more scared of the reality that life isn’t going to change. That’s decades and decades of suffering.

Lack of accountability

A lot of people genuinely don’t believe any of their bad luck is down to anything they’ve done. To them, they’re just a victim of society. I am a child of a person like this, and although some of the changes they’d need to make to improve…
