What To Expect Leaving A Corporate Job For A Small Company
When you spend many years at certain types of companies you can make the mistake of thinking that all companies are the same. So if you do decide to leave your role at a large corporate juggernaut and go to a smaller company you’re going to be left in shock. It’s going to be nothing like you’re used to, and you may not be able to hack it there.
Life at smaller companies is very different, some love it and some hate it. But you don’t know until you try. As much as I shit on them, I prefer working for large companies way more. Small companies go under the radar for how shit they are because it’s not newsworthy.
It’s Less “Professional” Environment
The majority of small companies can seem more unprofessional compared to large corporate ones. It’s not always the case, sometimes small companies can be very strict on professionalism, but for the most part, it’s a much more casual atmosphere.
People are more honest, and they’re more concerned with getting the job done than all the frivolous stuff big companies care about. Small companies have to work hard to keep the lights on, so they don’t have time to care about who says what, and what people wear.
