When useless people try to help you

I appreciate help sometimes but I don’t like help from most people. Some might hear this and say, it’s a you problem and I need to become more comfortable letting people help me, but that’s not it at all. I am comfortable with people helping me, it’s just that most people I’ve met are either bad at things or don’t put their best foot forward.

When it comes to certain things I don’t want anyone who isn’t competent or who doesn’t care near it. I’ll do it myself even if it takes time. I saw a post on IG that said to outsource surface-level tasks and keep the deeper tasks to yourself, obviously in a more poetic way. I saw this yesterday and I can’t remember the exact wording, how embarrassing.

When people help without asking you first

You should always consult the person that you aim to help before helping them in most cases. There are some situations that require quick thinking and some people are genuinely trying to do nice favours as a surprise, but for the most part, you need to speak to the other person. If you don’t ask them then your version of help might be causing them more work.

If you’re not good at something then why would you put that on someone without asking them first? Your support might be needed but not your complete individual work. Now the finished product is…
