Why Are Office Jobs So Boring?
I don’t go to work expecting fun and excitement, but the majority of office jobs are mindnumbing boring. People need to be stimulated in some way to get the best out of them. The more boring you make a job, the more you’ll push away your employees. It’s why some companies get into cringe territory trying to force work fun onto the staff.
but you know what. I don’t mind the job being boring if it pays well, it’s the boring people I can’t stand.
Most People Are Boring
I’ve met some very interesting people in office work, but they don’t tend to stick around. They use office jobs as a stepping stone or as a temp job until they get into their desired field, which is something very interesting.
Most of the people you meet are very grey, and that’s not a bad thing until they wonder why you don’t want to spend any time with them when you’re away from your desk.
This is when you have to get into your bag of excuses:
“I enjoy time to myself.”
“I like to eat out.”
“I have errands to run… every day of the week, every single week of the year”
