Why are people quiet quitting?

People are tired of being taken advantage of
Although the idea of work is to get paid for the work that you put in, many people are asked to do more than was originally agreed upon. Because of this people are burning themselves out for what in some cases is a pittance.
If you’re not getting paid enough in comparison to what you do you’re going to be annoyed. On top of that, what the company said and what they’re doing is different and that inconsistency is going to piss people off as well.
They’re trying to justify being lazy
Let’s be real, not everyone is quiet quitting because they’ve been wronged at work. They’re lazy and want to justify doing as little as possible and so they’ve clung on to this movement as hard as they can.
They’re the type of people that will come up with every excuse in the world to not put in a hard days work. The average person does the bare minimum at work, they’re not getting taken advantage of. Some people are just so entitled nowadays and think that they should get paid for the act of coming to work.
People are sick of work culture
Work culture used to be boring and grey, but it was better than what it is now. Now companies are so corny and they try and try to make work “fun” by making staff take part in annoying activities and creating an uncomfortable environment.
People don’t want a work family, they don’t want to go out on loads of work nights out, and they don’t want employee engagement activities. Most people know what their company is and they don’t need the people at the top pretending that it’s a happy place with a noble goal.
We all know that business is all about making money, that’s why we’re here too.
People want their life back
People don’t want to work 24/7 for a shitty company that they don’t care about. They don’t care about your dreams or your desire to have a nice house and car so you can compete with your shallow neighbours.
We live in a time where we don’t have to work all of the time and if given the choice people are going to opt out. They just want a way to pay their bills so they can eat bad food, go on 50 holidays a year, annoy the locals, and destroy the environment.
What’s so difficult to understand about that?
